EICMA 2014 as it was already expected Yamaha has presented the Yamaha MT-09 Tracer, trail for the MT-09 naked. Yamaha has found the reef with the MT family and with this balanced trail of medium-high cylinder capacity waiting to obtain a valid successor to the Yamaha TDM 900. With reasonable performance against the competition and a set price.
The attractive and minimalist design is still evident in this variant trail, with its dome aerodynamics with double LED optics, the adjustable three-position windscreen, their fairing reduced to its minimum expression and a double seat suitable for the installation of Pannier (in option) and trunk to travel very far. The LCD multifunction is another interesting design details.
Known propellant cylinder
The engine remains the same cylinder 4-valve with 850 cc and liquid cooling, giving 115 HP at 10,000 rpm and 87.5 Nm of torque @ 8,500 rpm. Combined with a weight in running order of 210 kilos thanks in part to its chassis cast aluminum, an 18 litre tank and a height-adjustable seat traveller there are bike for a while, agile, with character and manageable a priori. It is also complete with interesting details like a traction control can be switched off, three driving modes with D-Mode system, Centre stand and ABS brakes series.
The fork has a 137 mm travel and disc brakes (dual 298 mm front and 245 mm back) help to Polish one of the trail’s 2015 feelings to those that will not leave much ‘ black’.
