Hybrids between scooter and motorcycle of little more than 100 cc models for racing are common in countries in Southeast Asia such as Viet Nam.
Yamaha hopes to be at the forefront of this particular segment with the Yamaha Exciter 150 GP 2015, with the colors of the Team Yamaha’s MotoGP as an added attraction. They have nicknamed it ‘The King of the Street’ nothing more and nothing less and it costs 45.490.000 Vietnamese Dong, more than 1,700 euros to change.
As we say it is a particular motorcycle with 17-inch wheels but with position of driving scooter and superior to the of a naked equivalent wind protection. Also this renewed Exciter does not deprive certain touches premium to the market that is intended for, an analog instrumentation digital and LED lights in the sharp optics. No longer a scooter to the Asian, but with certain requirements, equipment and style.
Yamaha Exciter as a 125 cc Scooter
Concerning the Exciter 135 to which replaces now equipped with a single-cylinder liquid-cooled, electronic fuel injection, and 149 engine cc giving 15.4 HP at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 13.8 rpm to 7000 Nm. With its weight of 115 kilos can venture performance scooters of 125 cc-style European. The part cycle also is higher than what is typically offer in Viet Nam, rear Monoshock with 203 and 245 mm disc brakes and tires rear 120 / 70 for added stability. Yamaha Exciter has the seat height 780 mm, is comparatively high and having the only fuel tank 4.2 liters with that configuration.
Probably in a few weeks we are already seeing videos of Vietnamese doing the goat with these bikes and dreaming to be MotoGP pilot in the future, as happened here in Spain 50 years ago with the 1st motorcycling pioneers I patriotic.
